My son Ryan developed a keen interest in music from a young age and had been self-learning pop pieces on the electronic keyboard for many months before we decided to enroll him in a neighborhood commercial music school. Our hope was that formal lessons would nurture his ability and eventually guide him towards graded exams. HOW PLAYING THE PIANO BECAME A PART OF MY LIFE

My piano journey began 28 years ago, when my father’s chance encounter with his old schoolmate led me to Mr. Paul Ng. What started as a simple introduction turned into a lifelong passion. Though Mr. Ng was strict in my early years, I grew to appreciate his dedication and high standards, which instilled in me discipline, perseverance, and a true love for music. Unlike many who focus only on exams, Mr. Ng emphasized both enjoyment and growth. I progressed steadily through ABRSM grades while also exploring pieces I loved, learning theory, sight-reading, improvisation, and even performing in student recitals that built my confidence. Today, piano remains a vital part of my life, offering balance and creativity beyond my work.
